About this activity

This nature tours is one of the standout things to do in Lapland, Finland. it combines the highlights below into a single, easy-to-book experience from €119 per person. In 1673, Finns began migrating to the north and settled on the banks of the rivers Kemijoki and Kitinen. We will visit some of these historical villages, such as Pyhäjärvi, Suvanto, Kairala and Pelkosenniemi.

During the visit to Pelkosenniemi, you will learn how the Finns were received by the Sámis as these parts were considered as Sámi territory.

In the middle of tour, we will have a coffee break and then take you to Pelkosenniemi where you will learn about The Battle of Pelkosenniemi, which took place during the Winter War in 1939. It is one of the most important battles in the Lappish history.

After the break, we will go to an old wooden church and to the village of Pyhäjärvi, where the views of the National Park are exceptional.
