About this activity

Discover Lapland's winter magic on a guided snowshoeing adventure through pristine forest to the Lampivaara Amethyst Mine, where you'll dig for your own gemstones at 2,000+ feet elevation. This immersive 4-hour experience combines Nordic outdoor skills with geological wonder in Pyhä-Luosto National Park.

The Pyhä-Luosto National Park is a great place to learn snowshoeing. An experiences guide will take the participants through a snowy forest and then catch a warm ride to the top of the Lampivaara Fell, where wonderful landscapes surround the amethyst mine. After the interesting mine visit, where you can dig your own amethyst stone, we will snowshoe back to the car. 

Please notice that snowshoe walking is around 5 km and total duration of the tour can be even up to 5 hours. Take some small snacks in the pocket if needed.

Winter clothing is not included in this experience. If you need warm clothes and shoes, make sure to add it separately during reservation process. The warm winter clothing and shoes will be given before heading to experience.

Best time to visit
