About this activity

Experience the Arctic wilderness on a family-friendly snowmobile adventure in Rovaniemi, where adults pilot full-size machines through forest trails and frozen landscapes while children ride securely in heated sledges. The tour includes a midway photo break, driver rotation, and a dedicated mini-track session where kids get hands-on snowmobile time under supervision.

Enjoy a family snowmobile adventure where both adults and kids can experience the thrill of snowmobiling through glittering snow and forest trails.

Upon arrival at our safari office, you will be equipped with thermal and safety gear before embarking on the first departure, with adults sharing an adult-size snowmobile and children seated in a sledge pulled by the guide's snowmobile. Enjoy a one-hour long tour led by your guide through the forest trails and frozen swamps. Half way of the tour you will have a break to take pictures and switch drivers. Upon arriving back to the safari office it will be children's turn to drive on the mini snowmobile track for 10 minutes while parents  can capture the moment.

Suitable for all ages, adults require a valid driver's license to drive a snowmobile, but those without can comfortably ride on the sledge.

Highlights

  • 1-hour guided snowmobile tour through pristine forest trails and frozen swamps
  • Adults and children ride together—adults on snowmobiles, kids in towed sledges
  • Midway break for photography and driver swap between adults
  • 10-minute mini-snowmobile track experience for children
  • Full thermal and safety gear provided; all ages welcome

Insider tips

  • Book in morning slots (winter daylight is limited in Rovaniemi; earlier tours maximise daylight for photos)
  • Dress in layers beneath the provided thermal gear—the Arctic wind is intense, even when moving slowly
  • Bring a phone with fully charged battery or waterproof case; the photo break is your best window for landscape shots
  • If you don't hold a valid driver's license, ride the sledge comfortably instead—no pressure to drive

Good to know

  • Valid driver's license required only for adults who wish to operate the main snowmobile; non-licensed guests ride in the sledge without penalty
  • Thermal and safety gear (suits, helmets, gloves, boots) supplied; wear warm layers underneath
  • Meeting point is the safari office; exact check-in time confirmed at booking
  • Tour operates in winter conditions (snow/ice); suitable for ages 3+ typically, but confirm minimum child age when booking
