No. The tour welcomes all levels, from complete beginners to advanced riders. During booking, you'll specify your experience so the guide can match you with an appropriate horse and group.

How much time do we actually spend riding?

Active riding time is 1.5–2 hours, depending on weather, terrain conditions, and your group's pace. The full 5-hour tour includes preparation, horse introductions, and transitions.

What is tölting and will I experience it?

Tölting is a smooth, four-beat gait unique to Icelandic horses that feels gliding rather than bouncy. The guide prioritises tölting whenever possible, though the route varies daily based on conditions.

Galloping is not part of the tour for safety reasons. The focus is on tölting and controlled riding appropriate to all ability levels.

Wear layered, waterproof clothing suitable for changeable Icelandic weather. Closed-toe shoes with a small heel are essential for safety in the stirrups.

We always try to tölt as much as possible, but do not gallop for safety reasons.
