1 / 10Combine Icelandic horseback riding with the Golden Circle's three most iconic natural landmarks in a single immersive 10-hour adventure. Start with a guided ride through volcanic countryside on Icelandic horses, then visit Geysir's erupting hot springs, Gullfoss waterfall, and Þingvellir's UNESCO-listed rift valley.
The tour starts at our farm Vellir, where we ride for 1.5-2 hours on excellent riding trails in the charming countryside, enjoying the view of volcanic mountains and wide meadows. After the riding tour we have lunch at Hotel Eldhestar and then you will be picked up to visit the world-famous Geysir geothermal area and Gullfoss, the “golden waterfall”, as well as Thingvellir National Park. The Geysir geothermal area boasts spouting springs, including Strokkur, the most active geyser in Iceland. At Gullfoss you are given the opportunity to stand next to the amazing waterfall, watching enormous quantities of water tumble violently into a deep, meandering gorge. You also spend time encountering a cross-section of Iceland’s natural wonders and geological phenomena at Thingvellir National Park, an area of historical and geological significance.
Please note: The tour is suitable for all levels of riding experience from beginners to advanced. During booking process, we ask our clients to inform us about their riding experience, which helps us to choose the right horse for everyone. Beginners and experienced riders ride together. We always try to tölt as much as possible, but do not gallop for safety reasons.
Summer (June–August) offers long daylight hours and stable weather for comfortable riding and sightseeing. Spring (April–May) and early autumn (September) provide fewer crowds and dramatic skies, though conditions are cooler and more variable.
