About this activity

Explore Helsinki's stunning coastal landscape and pristine archipelago on a 3-hour guided boat cruise that combines maritime scenery with an immersive island walk. This experience reveals a hidden natural sanctuary just minutes from the city centre, where you'll discover the ecological richness and historical character of a former military island now preserved as public green space.

We meet 20 min. prior to departure in front of Marina Bay Café, guest boat harbour. Departing, we cruise around the Helsinki coastline and the archipelago. During the tour, we stop on an island and take a walk for example on Vallisaari, a former military island, now open to the public.

Nature has been remarkably well preserved on this city oasis. Lunch available on the island cafés at own expense.

Highlights

  • Scenic cruise around Helsinki's coastline and archipelago islands
  • Guided walk on Vallisaari, a former military fortification with rich history
  • Pristine natural environment and wildlife habitat in an urban setting

  • Photo opportunities of Helsinki's island landscape from the water

Insider tips

  • Arrive 20 minutes early at Marina Bay Café (guest boat harbour) to secure a good seat and settle in before departure
  • Bring sturdy walking shoes for the island terrain—paths are natural and uneven, not paved walkways
  • Pack layers; sea breezes can be cool even in mild weather, and conditions change quickly on the water
