About this activity

Explore Iceland's hidden geothermal and coastal landscapes on a 7-hour private Jeep tour departing Reykjavík, led by a local photographer who captures professional portraits of you against otherworldly backdrops. This small-group experience (max 5 people) ventures ~1 hour beyond the city to lesser-known craters, mud pools, rock formations, and historic sites, with included photography and local insights.

Please contact us if you don't see availability for your date/time or you wish for a different location tour like South Coast, Snæfellsness, or even multi-day trips.

I will pick you up from your location or the Keflavik airport if requested and take you to a "different planet" - spectacular out this world places located about 1 hour from Reykjavik, far from crowds and in a small group - maximum 5 people in my super comfy off-road 4x4.

In the area there are old craters, fissures, and bubbling, geothermal mud pools. By the sea, there are also many places with amazing rock formations, the oldest lighthouse in Iceland and even some ghosts ;)

While we look around, I will take pictures of you in the beautiful scenery and entertain you with some interesting facts about the places, teach you a bit about the Icelandic language, and share a bit of my personal experience and perspective on Iceland. The retouched pictures (about 15) will be sent to you in about 72h.

Highlights

  • Geothermal mud pools and volcanic craters unreached by typical tour buses
  • Coastal rock formations and Iceland's oldest lighthouse
  • Professional photographer along to compose and capture 15+ retouched images
  • Private 4x4 off-road vehicle with personalised commentary and Icelandic language tips
  • Flexible routing: South Coast, Snæfellsness, or multi-day options available on request

Insider tips

  • Book directly if your preferred date doesn't show availability—the operator customises itineraries and can arrange airport pickup from Keflavík
  • Wear waterproof, sturdy hiking shoes and layered clothing; geothermal areas can be muddy and coastal winds are strong year-round
  • Request the photographer to focus on specific locations or poses during booking to maximise your professional shots

Good to know

  • Hotel or airport pickup included upon request; confirm your start location at booking
  • Approximately 15 retouched photographs delivered within 72 hours
  • Suitable for mixed fitness levels; walking distances are moderate but terrain is uneven volcanic rock and mud
  • Small group size (max 5) means fewer crowds and more personalised attention
