About this activity

Explore Guangzhou's rich architectural and garden heritage on a curated 9-hour private tour visiting centuries-old Shawan town, elegant scholar's retreats, and one of Guangdong's most celebrated classical gardens. A local guide provides cultural context while you discover traditional courtyards, water features, and living heritage largely unchanged from centuries past.

Shawan Ancient Town, Baomo Garden, Yinmen Hill House, Baomo Garden, and Nanyue Garden are the interesting attractions to visit in the southern Guangzhou. This full-day private tour will let you explore them with a local guide from Guangzhou. Chinese lunch is included.
You will be picked up from your centrally located Guangzhou hotel at 8:30am, then take a private vehicle to visit the Shawan, an old town built about 800 years ago. There are still well-preserved old houses in the town.
Then you will head to the Yuyin Hill House, where there are quiet pool, pavilions, and nice gardens.
Afterwards you will head to Baomo Garden, which is one of the four renowned gardens in Guangdong. There are long corridor, old houses, hills, and flowers etc. in the garden.
Nanyue Garden is next to Baomo Garden, and it is a nice spot to view the combination of Guangdong architecture and water.
Later, you will be transferred back to your Guangzhou hotel where the day trip concludes.

  • Lunch typically features Guangzhou-style dishes; inform your guide in advance of dietary restrictions

Good to know

  • Hotel pickup at 8:30am from centrally located Guangzhou hotels; confirm exact location and contact details day before
