About this activity

Escape Guangzhou's urban pace with a full-day private excursion to Chaozhou, a historic riverside town reached by high-speed rail. Explore ancient temples, medieval bridges, and traditional streetscapes while experiencing authentic local culture and cuisine.

At 7:30am, your guide will meet you in the lobby of the centrally located Guangzhou hotel, then move to Guangzhou Railway Station to catch 3-hour bullet train to Chaozhou. Upon arrival, you will visit the Kaiyuan Temple that is the oldest temple in this area, built 1200 years ago initially, with well-preserved architecture and statues. Then you will visit the old Guangji Bridge that was built 800 years ago. Afterwards you will wander around the old town of Chaozhou to enjoy the slow life style, meanwhile you can enjoy your lunch here.
Later, you will move to visit the West Lake that is a nice site to view the mountains and lake. Afterwards you will catch bullet back to Guangzhou. Upon arrival, you will be transferred back to your Guangzhou hotel where the trip concludes.
