Ischia & Procida Boat Tour from Sorrento
Discover the best of Ischia with a local experience.
About this activity
Set off from Sorrento aboard a comfortable boat for a full day of relaxation and discovery, exploring two stunning islands in the Gulf of Naples: Ischia and Procida.
Ischia, known as the “Green Island” for its lush vegetation, is famous for its thermal spas, scenic bays, and dreamy beaches. Procida, named Italian Capital of Culture 2022, captivates visitors with its vibrant colors, authentic atmosphere, and unspoiled natural beauty.
Throughout the day, you can relax in the sun, swim directly from the boat, and snorkel in crystal-clear waters. You’ll also enjoy free time on both islands to explore their charming villages at your own pace.
The experience begins at 08:15 am, when you’ll meet your driver at Parking Achille Lauro, located in Via Correale 25 in Sorrento. From here, you’ll be transferred to the port of Piano di Sorrento, where your boat will be waiting.
As you cruise along the Gulf of Naples, enjoy panoramic views of the small island of Nisida, the fascinating Phlegraean Fields, and Capo Miseno, the westernmost point of the Phlegraean Peninsula.
Upon arrival in Ischia, the tour starts along Maronti Beach, the longest beach on the island, stretching for almost three kilometers. The navigation then continues toward the stunning Green Cave, a natural sea cave carved into the rock, where sunlight reflecting on the water creates magical green shades. Here, you’ll stop to swim and snorkel before sailing toward the island’s most iconic landmark, the Aragonese Castle—a majestic fortress rising from the sea on a massive rock, connected to the eastern side of the island by a 220-meter bridge.
You will then dock at the port of Ischia, where you’ll have three to four hours of free time to explore the island at your own pace. You may choose to wander through the town, relax on the beach, or hop on one of Ischia’s famous three-wheeled microtaxis (Apecar) for a fun and authentic way to discover the island’s main highlights.
The tour continues toward Procida, sailing around the island and offering spectacular views of the islet of Vivara, Terra Murata with the former Palazzo d’Avalos prison, the charming village of Marina di Corricella, famous for its colorful houses, and the picturesque Chiaiozza Bay, among other coastal gems. A swimming stop is also planned in one of Procida’s beautiful bays along the coast.
Once in Procida, you’ll enjoy one to two hours of free time to explore the island independently, soaking in its authentic atmosphere and unspoiled beauty.
After a full day of sea, sun, and unforgettable scenery, you’ll cruise back from Procida to Sorrento. On board, a farewell limoncello tasting will accompany the return journey to the port of Sorrento, conveniently located within walking distance of restaurants, shops, and transport connections.
