1 / 6Cagliari Self-Guided Detective Murder Mystery Game
About this activity
Solve a Sherlock Holmes–themed murder mystery while exploring Cagliari's streets in this self-guided mobile game. Follow clues, decode puzzles, and unravel the case at your own pace using the Loquiz app—a flexible detective adventure perfect for solo players, families, and groups.
The case starts on Piazza Yenne in Cagliari, at the foot of the old town, and the route climbs from there towards the Torre dello Sperone. On the way up you pass the Chiesa Collegiata di Sant'Anna and come out by the Torre Campanaria della Cattedrale, high enough to look down on the roofs. It is a self-guided murder mystery game, played in the streets of Cagliari instead of at a table.
There is a real climb in this one, so decent shoes help, but the distances are short and the route suits families with children, groups of friends, couples and colleagues; playing on your own is equally possible. One phone serves a team of up to four, and larger groups buy extra tickets and separate at the start, which works well on stepped lanes where a crowd would only bunch up. Nobody leads the way and no time is set.
How to play
Four steps, and the case is yours.
- Book the City Game
- Check the instructions email
- Download the Loquiz app
- Start playing whenever you like
The case is the murder of Balthasar. Codes have to be deciphered, photo tasks completed and the statements of digital characters checked against each other. Near the MUTSEU Museo del Tesoro a number turns out to matter, in front of the Church of Saint Mary Purissima a witness contradicts himself, and each answer you send narrows the list of suspects.
With two or more teams on the trail it becomes a race, which is why it is used for teambuilding as much as for a day out with friends. Take a break in the shade, return to the evidence afterwards, and finish the case back down in Cagliari.
