Curral das Freiras is a small village, surrounded by huge mountains, in the heart of the Island.

The cauldron on which this village lies was formed by erosion as many believe or by volcanic activity.

After passing by the church of Santo António, we stop at the belvedere of the Barcelos Peak with 355m where you will be dazzled with a magnificent view over Funchal.

Then we cross the mountains to Eira do Serrado where there is a viewpoint over the valley of Curral das Freiras with 1094m.

We visit the famous Freguesia Curral das Freiras returning to Funchal.
