About this activity

Experience three of Tanzania's premier Northern Circuit parks—Tarangire, Ngorongoro Crater, and Lake Manyara—in a single 3-day camping safari. This immersive journey combines dense wildlife concentrations, dramatic landscapes, and authentic bush camping for a comprehensive introduction to East Africa's iconic ecosystems.

Enjoy 3 Days at Tarangire National Park – Lake Manyara & Ngorongoro Crater, this camping safari  is designed to offer you three of the best National Parks located in Tanzania Northern Circuit.

Our 3 Day visit begins with a stop at the famous Tarangire National Park which features some of the greatest concentration of game in Tanzania - second only to the Ngorongoro Crater - but less crowded and unspoiled - possessing a wild beauty.

Next is the Ngorongoro Crater featuring one of the highest concentrations of game in Africa. Here you will witness an amazing spectacle of African wildlife - inside a self-contained world teeming with animals.

Finally you get to visit Lake Manyara National Park, one of Tanzania's most dramatically located wildlife areas, consisting of a shallow but huge soda lake, at the foot of the Great Rift Valley's western escarpment.

Highlights

  • Tarangire National Park: witness one of Africa's highest game concentrations with minimal crowds
  • Ngorongoro Crater: explore a self-contained wildlife arena with elephants, lions, and rhinos
  • Lake Manyara: spot flamingos and wildlife against the Great Rift Valley escarpment
  • Camping under stars in remote, unspoiled wilderness settings
  • Expert-guided game drives across three distinct ecosystems

Insider tips

  • Tarangire is less crowded than Ngorongoro but equally rewarding—arrive early for best animal sightings around waterholes
  • Bring layers: mornings and evenings are cool even during warm seasons; the Rift Valley elevation creates temperature swings
  • Pack binoculars and a telephoto lens if you photograph; wildlife varies by park, so each offers different species opportunities

Good to know

  • Camping accommodation: basic but comfortable tents with bedding provided; communal facilities
  • All-terrain 4WD vehicles used for game drives; not wheelchair accessible due to rough terrain and safari vehicle design
  • Pick-up typically from Arusha; confirm meeting point and time with operator 24 hours before departure
  • Bring sun protection (SPF 50+), hat, and closed hiking shoes; malaria prophylaxis recommended
