About this activity

During this fabulous half-day city tour (approx 5 hours) you are going to discover the most outstanding and noteworthy monuments of Wroclaw. The program of the tour includes The Best of Wroclaw Walking Tour plus gives you an opportunity to explore the unique sites situated outside of the historic old town.

In the morning, after the hotel pick-up, you will be taken to see extraordinary and amazing artistic masterpieces of Poland - Panorama of the Battle of Racławice. You will have an opportunity to participate in a unique illusionist spectacle, admiring the circular oil painting of impressive size (15 m high and 114 m long). Painted in 1894 Panorama was meant to commemorate the 100 year anniversary of the Kosciusko Insurrection. In 1794 Polish troops defeated the Russian army and thus transformed the Raclawice battle into a powerful symbol of the national struggle for freedom and independence.

Then you will be transported to an interesting area of Wroclaw that combines nature with outstanding examples of modernist architecture. You will have time to relax and enjoy the Japanese Garden, a great expression of Japanese gardening art that was, with the help of the Japanese government, reestablished after the "millennium flood" of 1997. (Open from April till October.)

You will also admire the Centennial Hall - a huge, reinforced concrete building erected in 1913. You will find out what this construction was meant to commemorate and also why the whole complex was inscribed into the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites.

The second part of the tour continues in the oldest part of the city - Cathedral Island.

The tour continues through the oldest part of Wroclaw, Ostrow Tumski. Located here is the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist as well as many churches and cloisters, which lend the area an extraordinary spiritual atmosphere.

You will have a pleasant stroll including a short break for coffee and a snack in the colorful Market Hall.

The tour comes to an end at the main market square, where you will be amazed by the unique beauty of the late gothic City Hall.
