About this activity

This helicopter tours is one of the standout things to do in Reykjavík, Iceland. Rated 4.3/5 by 3 travellers, it combines the highlights below into a single, easy-to-book experience from €970 per person. Enjoy the beautiful scenery of one of Iceland's highest waterfalls and land on an Icelandic glacier.

We take off from Reykjavik Airport and head into Hvalfjörður to check out one of Iceland‘s highest waterfalls, Glymur, with a cascade of 198 meters. The waterfall is hidden in a high and narrow canyon at the bottom of Hvafjörður. Hovering over the waterfall will give you amazing views of the mossy canyons and massive waterfall. From there we head on over to Langjökull glacier for our landing.

During the landing, you will get to enjoy the unique calmness and the incredible mountain views surrounding us while breathing in some pristine glacier air. Take a moment to enjoy the scenery and take some pictures, touch the snow and just enjoy before we get airborne again.

After our glacier landing, we head past the 9000-year-old shield volcano Skjaldbreiður and follow the continental rift to Þingvellir national park. Þingvellir is a part of the famous Golden Circle route and is known for the Alþingi, the site of Iceland's parliament from the 10th to 18th centuries, and for sitting in a rift valley caused by the separation of the North-American and Eurasian tectonic plates which is best viewed from above. From Þingvellir you will also get views of Öxará river and Öxarárfoss waterfall which flows over Almannagjá at the tip of the tectonic plates.

Best time to visit

Reykjavík is rewarding year-round, but spring and early autumn typically bring the most comfortable temperatures and thinner crowds than peak summer. Morning departures tend to be quieter and cooler; booking ahead is recommended in high season as popular helicopter tours slots in Reykjavík sell out.
