You can reach the crater with a climbing walk of 20/25 minutes. The crater entrance is included with an internal volcano guide. Pompeii is a vast archaeological site, once a thriving and sophisticated Roman city, it was buried under meters of ash and pumice from the catastrophic eruption in 79 AD. The site is constantly evolving thanks to continuous excavations, and offers new discoveries every year. An expert professional guide is highly recommended, to better visit its most important structures in detail in relaxation.
