About this activity

Experience quintessential Dutch culture on an intimate 8-hour journey from Amsterdam, visiting working windmills, artisan workshops, and the world-renowned Keukenhof gardens in groups of no more than 8 guests. This small-group format ensures personalised guidance and a less-crowded experience of Holland's most iconic landscapes and traditions.

Travel in a small group, 8 guests maximum, to ensure personal attention from your guide at Zaanse Schans and your driver. You will visit a wooden shoe workshop for a demonstration of clog making, a cheese farm for an explanation of cheese making and a working Industrial windmill.

Before arriving at Keukenhof flower gardens, you will enjoy a typical Dutch pancake lunch (a pancake and drinks of your choice) at a local restaurant.
At Keukenhof, skip the line and walk straight through the entrance as entrance tickets are given to you by the driver. Afterward, you will be brought back to Amsterdam.

Highlights

  • Watch traditional wooden clog-making at a working workshop in Zaanse Schans
  • Learn authentic Dutch cheese production at a family-run farm
  • See 17th-century industrial windmills still operating today
  • Skip-the-line entry to Keukenhof flower gardens (tickets included)
  • Enjoy a traditional Dutch pancake lunch with complimentary drinks at a local restaurant

Insider tips

  • Arrive early at Keukenhof to explore gardens at your own pace after skip-the-line entry—the crowds build significantly after midday.
  • Wear comfortable walking shoes; the windmill site and flower gardens involve 2–3 hours of gentle walking.
  • Ask your guide which cheese or clog workshops are currently demonstrating live production to maximise hands-on experience.
  • The 8-person cap means you'll have genuine one-on-one time with your guide for questions—use it to dig deeper into Dutch heritage.

Good to know

  • Duration includes travel time; expect 1.5–2 hours total in transit from central Amsterdam.
  • Entrance tickets to Keukenhof are provided by your driver; no separate purchase needed.
  • Pancake lunch and one drink included; additional beverages available for purchase.
  • Tour operates in small minivans; wheelchair access available on request (confirm when booking).
  • Bring layers and a light rain jacket; Dutch weather is changeable even in spring.

Best time to visit
