About this activity

Explore the hidden corners of Bulgaria's most romantic village, Bojentsi, by bike through dense forests and authentic Balkan hamlets. This 4-hour guided ride weaves through architectural heritage sites, mountain panoramas, and local legends—including a carefully guarded surprise in the village of Torballagi.

With this tour you will discover the "little secrets" of the Balkan - authentic villages, dense forests, splendid panoramas and numerous legends.
We will lead you through the "most romantic village in Bulgaria" - Bozhentsi, but we will do it in a very special way: we will enter the village through the "back entrance" and leave it through the "window". Bozhentsi has been declared an architectural and historical reserve more than fifty years ago, and the road passes along an old Roman highway. The view to the south is majestic and the power of the Balkan is captivating. On the horizon are the highest peak in the Balkan Mountains - Botev, the Triglav massif and the second highest peak - Golyam Kademlia, the Uzana place and Mount Ispolin, Shipka, Buzludzha, Bedets, Tryavna and Elena Balkan!
Special attention is paid to Torballagi - a small village with a special spirit and own legend. Here awaits a surprise that we will deliberately keep in secret!

  • ✓Navigate Bojentsi via its historic 'back entrance' and 'window' exit for an unconventional village exploration
  • ✓Ride sections of an ancient Roman highway with unobstructed Balkan mountain vistas
  • ✓Spot Bulgaria's highest peaks—Mount Botev and Golyam Kademlia—from scenic overlooks
  • ✓Discover Torballagi village and its mysterious local legend with a surprise element

Insider tips

  • ★The 'back entrance' approach gives you an authentic, less-touristy perspective of Bojentsi's 500-year-old stone houses and cobbled lanes
  • ★Ask your guide about Torballagi's legend beforehand—it adds context to the surprise and makes the ride more immersive
  • ★Early morning rides offer the clearest mountain views and fewer visitors on the village roads

Good to know

  • •4-hour duration includes riding time and stops for photos and legend-telling; bring water and snacks
  • •Mountain biking experience helpful but not mandatory; terrain mixes forest trails and village roads
  • •Wear layers—Balkan elevations and shaded forest sections create temperature variations
  • •Meet at a specific location in or near Bojentsi (confirm exact meeting point when booking)
