About this activity

This food & drink tours is one of the standout things to do in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Rated 4.0/5 by 5 travellers, it combines the highlights below into a single, easy-to-book experience from €176 per person. BBQ cooking class premium steak, delicious wine, and stories around this Argentinian tradition

The Asado Experience is a BBQ cooking class with premium meat and wine where you will discover as a local this authentic argentine tradition.

The Asado Experience has earned over 300 five stars reviews on Airbnb Experiences, Tripadvisor/ Viator and Google. It was founded in 2019 by Belen Richards Donnelly who has welcomed more than 700 guests from 40 different countries.

This activity recreates the Asado in a unique location: Belen's +100 years old family house in Belgrano, a residencial neighborhood in Buenos Aires city.

It's a three hour full on experience and an opportunity to learn the secrets behind cooking around the fire like an argentinian. It's also the occasion to experience the true significance of asado in our culture.

You will enjoy different cuts of our premium meat selection accompanied by premium wine, Catena Zapata, an argentinian wine that stands with the best in the world. Once you've participated on The Asado Experience from start to finish, you can truly say you've been to Argentina.

1. STARTING THE FIRE

The fire is the key to prepare an asado. You will learn our secrets to start and maintain the fire. Truly, the asado is just an excuse to gather around the fire with your family and friends.

2. SHARING A FAMILY TABLE WITH OTHER GUESTS

Upon arrival you will find a seat assigned specially for you. Not only you will be hearing a lot of stories and anecdotes about Argentina from us, but you'll also get to share a meal with a reduced group of travelers from all over the world.

3. HANDS ON EXPERIENCE: PREPARING CHIMICHURRI SAUCE

You will be participating in a hands on activity were we will prepare the traditional Chimichurri Sauce with Belen's family recipe. You will be also helping the host with the cooking process: salting the cuts, using our tools to identify in which cooking stage the cuts are, placing the egg on the red pepper to discover how we cook each ingredient on the grill.

4. LEARNING ABOUT PREMIUM ARGENTINIAN MEAT

There are plenty of cuts to choose at the butcher, but we selected for you, what we consider to be the five most premium cuts in Argentina. Different cuts, require a different cooking time. You will learn about them; their specific characteristics and you'll see how we manage to serve them all right on time.

5. TASTING UNIQUE FLAVORS

Like in every argentine Asado, the cuts will be served in a flow, one after the other, accompanied always with a glass of wine. This way, each one of them can be properly appreciated. Those brave enough will assist with the slicing of the main cut. Our last but not least cut, will be served among grilled vegetables.

Best time to visit

Buenos Aires is rewarding year-round, but spring and early autumn typically bring the most comfortable temperatures and thinner crowds than peak summer. Morning departures tend to be quieter and cooler; booking ahead is recommended in high season as popular food & drink tours slots in Buenos Aires sell out.
