How high is the Sacred Valley, and will I have altitude issues?

Sites range from 9,000 to 11,000 feet above sea level. To minimise altitude sickness, arrive in Cusco 2–3 days early, stay hydrated, and move slowly. Consult your doctor if you have heart or respiratory conditions.

Is the tour physically demanding?

Moderate activity level. You'll walk on uneven terrain and climb steps at the ruins, but pace is leisurely. Wear good shoes and bring a light backpack. Not recommended for those with severe mobility issues.

Sunscreen, hat, water bottle, light layers (mornings cool, midday hot), cash for market purchases, and a camera. The altitude and high UV exposure make sun protection essential.

Can I buy souvenirs at the markets?

Yes. Both Pisac and Chinchero markets sell textiles, pottery, alpaca goods, and crafts made by local artisans. Bargaining is customary. Bring small bills or coins, as card payments are uncommon.

Is this tour suitable if I'm short on time in Peru?

Yes. This 10-hour day trip covers the Sacred Valley's three major archaeological and cultural sites, making it ideal if you have only 1–2 days around Cusco before heading elsewhere.
