About this activity

Explore two of Xinjiang's most iconic landmarks in a single day: the glacial Tianchi Heavenly Lake high in the Tianshan Mountains, and the historic Red Hill pagoda overlooking Urumqi's skyline. This private tour combines alpine scenery, Kazakh culture, and urban heritage in an 8-hour immersive experience.

At 9:00am, you guide will meet you at the hotel lobby of centrally located Urumqi hotel, then take one-hour ride to Tianchi. Tianchi, Heavenly Lake in English, is a high-mountain lake located in the central part of Tianshan Mountains, which was inscribed on the list of World Heritage by UNESCO in 2013. You can take a boat on the nice lake with altitude of 1980 meters. There is a picturesque Lesser Tianchi hidden in the forest, where there is waterfall running from the mountain with a fantastic scenery. Moreover, there are plenty of Kazakh yurts on the bank of the Tianchi, where is the home for the nomad Kazakhs.

Your lunch is served in a local restaurant. In the afternoon, you will be transferred back Urumqi to visit the Red Hill, or Hongshan in Chinese that is the situated in the city centre with the altitude of 910 meters, where you will view a Pagoda that was built 200 years ago. Now Red Hill is the token of the city Urumqi.

After tour is finished, you will be transferred back to your hotel.
