About this activity

A 4-hour guided photography workshop through Marseille's most compelling streets and landmarks, tailored to your interests and skill level. Work one-on-one with a local photographer to master composition, camera settings, and visual storytelling while capturing the city's layered identity—from gritty urban scenes to architectural gems.

Marseille: a very complex identity and a great diversity. It's a perfect subject for photography ... Whether you like landscapes, architecture, street photography, portraits or art, your eye will find its interest. I will assist you in the use of your device, its understanding, the composition of your photographs and other technical points. We will be able to choose our itinerary and our objects of attention in adaptation to your needs and the circumstances of the moment. I suggest you start from the camera and what makes you want to go to the future use of the cliché. There is nothing obligatory, few forbidden and a creation of the moment.

Highlights

  • Personalized guidance on composition and technical camera skills
  • Flexible route chosen based on your photographic interests (landscape, street, portrait, architecture, or art)
  • Explore Marseille's diverse neighbourhoods and hidden visual gems
  • Real-time feedback on your shots and post-shoot discussion
  • Suitable for all camera types and experience levels

Insider tips

  • Arrive with a clear idea of what subjects excite you—landscapes, street scenes, or architecture—so the guide can plan the route accordingly.
  • Marseille's light is best in early morning or late afternoon; consider booking during these windows for richer colours and softer shadows.
  • Bring a fully charged battery and memory card; workshops are active and you'll want capacity for dozens of shots.

Good to know

  • No prior photography experience required; the workshop adapts to beginners and advanced photographers alike.
  • Bring your own camera (DSLR, mirrorless, smartphone, or compact) or discuss rental options with the guide in advance.
  • Comfortable walking shoes essential; you'll cover several kilometres on foot exploring different areas.
  • Weather-dependent; rain doesn't cancel but may alter route. Bring a weather-appropriate jacket.
