1 / 2Master Paris's iconic underground rail system with a local guide who demystifies navigation while showcasing hidden artistic gems across 300+ stations. This 2-hour guided journey combines practical transit skills with cultural exploration, ending with a full-day pass so you can continue exploring independently.
Constructed at the turn of the 20th century, the Paris Métropolitain (the “Métro”) is a busy underground transit system which, along with the Réseau Express Régional (the “RER”) is a total of 16 lines and 300 stations across the entire capital city of Paris and its surrounding suburbs. But don’t be afraid – the Paris Métro system is actually quite easy to use! With your guide by your side, you’ll learn how to use the Métro and get around Paris just like the locals do. But there’s more; your guide will take this opportunity to show you some of the more unique and artistic stations, located all throughout the city. Discover the world-famous Art Nouveau stations; see creative and unusual platform designs; and take in some of the more memorable Métro street entrances, such as the famous Kiosque des Noctambules station which is decorated using fine glass from the Italian city of Venice. You’ll also have time to pop up from underground at various stops to see where some of the city’s best sights and streets are located in relation to the Métro. This tour includes a full-day Métro ticket, which will still be valid for the rest of the day even after your tour’s finished.
Early morning or early afternoon tours are ideal—you'll avoid peak commute crowds and have maximum daylight for pop-up surface stops. Weekdays are less hectic than weekends.
