Mae Kham Pong Village Experience

<p>Departing from your hotel in Chiang Mai around 9.00am., a stop will be made at a local market along the way. Here you will have a chance to buy ingredients to do some cooking at the village for dinner.</p>

<p>You will be welcomed by a local villager and taken for a very interesting look around, including their lovely views of the beautiful scenery below. The village is 1,300 meters above sea level with an average temperature of 10-18 C throughout the year. Whilst it is certainly very different to the usual images of Thailand&#39;s beaches and tropical climate it is none the less part of Thailand&#39;s landscape and absolutely one that any visitor should go to see.</p>

<p>Upon arrival you will walk through the community forest, where the villagers grow tea and coffee, to see how they keep live in harmony with nature. It is a good example for our dearly loved Late King’s self-sufficient economy theory.</p>

<p>A picnic lunch will be provided at a waterfall.</p>

<p>After lunch you will return to the village to relax with a one hour Thai traditional massage. Then walk around the village to witness the fermented tea leaves process and see some local, handmade products.</p>

<p>A great experience follows, as you will join some local people, in their home, to prepare and cook your dinner.</p>

<p>The drive back to your Chiang Mai hotel will have you back at about 7.30pm. Return to Chiang Mai, arriving back at your hotel<br />at about 7.30pm.</p>
