1 / 10Climb Diamond Hill on a guided 7km loop through Connemara National Park, one of Ireland's most dramatic landscapes. A local expert leads you past blanket bogs and moorland to summit views spanning the Twelve Bens and Atlantic coastline, all within 3 hours on a well-maintained path.
Join us on a guided hike in scenic Connemara National Park, on a moderate 2-3 hour climb to the top of Diamond hill along one of the four trails that are accessible from the park grounds. It is a looped walk that is 7km in length and has a height gain of roughly 500m. Your local guide will share his knowledge about the park, its flora and fauna, the blanket bogs that are a feature of the area as well as the area’s local history and wildlife.
It is one of the only walks in the area that has a path from top to bottom therefore you do not require hiking boots. It is worth noting that there are steep sections at the top and it can be very windy up there, but the views are well worth it! Bring a bottle of water and suitable clothes for the weather on the day.
This hike is also available as a private experience.
Hike in late spring through early autumn (May–September) for drier conditions and longer daylight. Early morning departures maximise visibility before afternoon mist rolls in over the mountains.
