On this tour, you will get to taste berries and pick – depending on the season – either natural berries or forest mushrooms. Maybe we`ll make a delicious snack out of them.
We’ll learn about the pure, natural goods of Lapland, as well as the health benefits of berries and herbs. Traditional Lappish instructions for preparing or conserving berries and mushrooms are also given.
On this tour, we’ll enjoy a berry pie, coffee and tea.
We have only local guides with a real knowledge of the arctic nature, so the nature trip with us is a genuine experience.
The seasons of natural berries in the Rovaniemi area:
The seasons for mushroom-picking can’t be defined exactly. Different mushrooms grow in various ways and they have only roughly been divided into spring, summer and fall mushrooms. Most mushrooms are picked during midsummer and the fall.

June–October offers the best foraging conditions. Visit July–August for cloudberries and bilberries, or September–October for lingonberries and cranberries. Crowberry and cranberry picking extends into early winter before snow cover.
