Experience and explore the fantastic little city of Kilkenny, visit the Wicklow Mountains and the majestic Glendalough

Departing Dublin at the nice and relax time of 8:00am this is the tour for those who like to get a few extra hours sleep in the morning.

We will start by making our way through Dublin City and heading for the Wicklow mountains.

This is truly a scenic drive with amazing scenery stretching as far as the eyes can see. Hollywood Blockbusters like ‘P.S. I Love You’ and ‘Braveheart’ have been filmed here. A 10 minute photo stop to get a few pictures of this outstanding view is also included.

Arriving at our first official stop for the day , Glendalough, you will have around 2 hours to explore one of the most beautiful sights in Ireland. An area renowned for its magnificent scenery and Monastic ruins dating back to the 10th Century. But that is not all, here you will find magnificent lakes, waterfalls etc. The wedding scene from the movie "Braveheart" was filmed here at Glendalough as well.

After you explored Glendalough we have a special treat install for you , with a local farmer showing us how he and his trusted sheepdog round up a herd of sheep.Using only whistle commands you can experience the skill involved in this old tradition. With any luck there might even be a puppy on training and a few lambs on show.

Next stop is the fantastic little city of Kilkenny. Enjoy 2 hours walking down the cobbled streets and visit castles in a town that was once the medieval capital of Ireland back in the 11th century. You can also visit the Black Abbey and the Cathedral of Saint Canice with its magnificent round tower.

After a busy day we will make our way back to Dublin and should be back around  6:00 PM and 6:30 PM.

Best time to visit

Dublin is rewarding year-round, but spring and early autumn typically bring the most comfortable temperatures and thinner crowds than peak summer. Morning departures tend to be quieter and cooler; booking ahead is recommended in high season as popular bus & minivan tours slots in Dublin sell out.
