Did you know: The name ‘Delphi’ was coined from ‘Dolphin’ because it was widely believed that Apollo first visited the region in the shape of a Dolphin.

So much history!

The Greeks are my absolute favourite in terms of history and mythology and I am always trying to learn something new about them. So during my visit to Athens (even though I was there for business meetings), I wouldn't miss visiting at least one site. After a small Google search, I came across this tour and booked it without a second thought (after a small chat with DayTrip4U, thanks Zoi for the help though). Our guide was brilliant, he knew every single detail about the sites visited and what truly caught my attention was when he was talking to us about this ancient oracle Pithia. Also, I really enjoyed the visit to the museum because I am a big admirer of Greek artefacts and what we saw along with our guide's explanations were illuminating. The exhibit that caught my attention was the Naxian sphinx. To sum up, it was a very nice day trip and an excellent addition to my trip. Recommended :)

Navel of the earth

Always wanted to visit the land of my forfathers and i finally managed it in late September. Got picked up from our hotel in central Athens and had a bus ride to Deplhi. Exceptional guide who explained each and every place we passed. Land of kings first and the mysterious Delphi ruins. Majestic views of the mountains surrounding it. Don't miss the ancient theater and the Tholos. Second stop at the nearby museum for more information and to admire the unique artifacts recovered at the site. Do not miss it as it completes the image of the area. Lunch and a short visit at the picturesque village of Arahova and some shopping.
