Classic Cooking Class in Athens

<p>Starting with a trip to the local food market, where you&#39;ll learn all about the fantastic products that we have here in Greece, you&#39;ll pick up tips on where to buy gifts and eat as well as how to shop like a local (so you won&#39;t end up with 20 kilos of olives...) before returning to the Greek Kitchen for your class. </p>

<p>At the end of the lesson, you and your fellow cooks will gather at the table to enjoy your meal and have a good chat with your cook. </p>

<p>At the moment we are cooking the following menu: </p>

<ul><li><strong>Dolmades:</strong> Delicious vine leaves wrapped around herb-infused rice.</li><li><strong>Spanakopita:</strong> Spinach pies with a touch of creamy, salty feta all wrapped up in pastry. </li><li><strong>Tzatziki:</strong> This is the accompaniment of many Greek dishes. A classic Greek yoghurt infused with garlic, cucumber and herbs. Perfect for dipping those dolmades and pies into!</li><li><strong>Melitzanes Papoutsakia</strong>: &#34;little eggplant shoes&#34; you won&#39;t be wearing these tasty shoes though! Roasted eggplant topped with a fragrant tomato and beef/mushroom mince and covered in creamy béchamel. </li><li><strong>Portokalopita: </strong>An all time favourite for many Greeks, this sticky, soft orange &#34;pie&#34; is made from phyllo pastry, oranges and cinnamon. If you can make this you&#39;ll never be without friends.</li></ul>

<p>Your experience includes fresh bread, Greek salad and a 250ml carafe of wine or a beer. Soft drinks are available and drinking water is provided throughout.</p>
