Insider tips
- ★Start early in the day—morning light on the ice and clearer visibility make for better photography and safer conditions
- ★Glacier conditions vary seasonally; summer (December–February) offers longest daylight and most stable ice, but book well ahead
- ★Bring high-SPF sunscreen and sunglasses; reflection off ice intensifies UV exposure
- ★Wear moisture-wicking layers rather than cotton; weather can shift rapidly in the mountains
