Pan for real gold in Finnish Lapland during this immersive 3-hour activity led by a geologist guide, combining hands-on prospecting with local history and Arctic nature. Keep any gold you find as a souvenir while enjoying traditional Finnish forest hospitality.

Lapland is a Land of Gold! Did you know that in Lapland we had the Gold Rush at the same time that in Klondike?

Now you have the oportunity to experience the excitement of seeking the hidden gold treasure of Lapland by gold panning.

Upon arrival at the farm, Mama Fox, a geologist, will tell us about the Lapland´s gold and its history and legends of it.

The session is followed by knowledge of how gold is traditionally prospected by sluice boxes.

You will then get to try gold panning, which is a traditional gold prospecting method. If you get lucky, you may find gold nugget! All the gold you may find is yours to keep as a memento of this trip.

During the gold panning, we’ll enjoy a typical Finnish Muurikka crêpe with berries and some campfire coffee or tea.

This trip allows you one more chance to admire the beautiful nature of Ounasjoki and recap the happenings of the exciting day.

At the Happy Fox we have only local guides with a real knowledge of the arctic nature, so the nature trip with us is a genuine experience.
