Borjomi's mineral water has been bottled and exported since 1850, making it one of the oldest continuously produced mineral waters in the Caucasus.
The town sits at 800 meters elevation in a narrow gorge of the Lesser Caucasus mountains, creating a naturally protected microclimate ideal for health tourism.
Borjomi National Park, established in 1995, covers over 10,000 hectares and protects one of the last remaining Caucasian oak and beech forests in Georgia.
The Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park hiking trail, opened in 2012, stretches 60 kilometers through the gorge and connects three historic monasteries.
