About this activity

Set sail from Costa Adeje on a 4.5-hour catamaran expedition hunting for resident whales and dolphins en route to the dramatic sea cliffs of Los Gigantes and Masca. Expert cetacean guides narrate marine life behaviour while you cruise turquoise waters, with onboard refreshments and the chance to unwind on deck as the coastline unfolds.

This tour starts from the port of Puerto Colon in Costa Adeje. The catamaran will sail in search of whales and dolphins while on the way to the mystical cliffs of Los Gigantes and Masca. During this trip, the guide shares all kinds of knowledge about whales and dolphins, like where they are found, what they eat, and their migrations. Right before we get back to the port of Costa Adeje you can relax on board as well as sunbathing while admiring the coast of Barranco de Masca.

Please note sun beds are extra and are on a first come first served basis!

Insider tips

  • Book sun loungers in advance if you want guaranteed deck seating—they're first-come, first-served and get snapped up quickly
  • Arrive early at Puerto Colón to secure a good spot on the upper deck for unobstructed whale-spotting views
  • Bring seasickness medication if prone to motion; even calm waters can affect sensitive stomachs on longer catamaran journeys
  • Wear reef-safe sunscreen and a light layer—UV reflection off the water is intense, and ocean breezes can be cooler than expected
