1 / 6Vigo Self-Guided Detective Murder Mystery Game
About this activity
Become a detective and solve a Sherlock Holmes–inspired murder mystery while exploring Vigo's streets in this self-guided mobile game. You'll race against the clock to uncover clues, crack puzzles, and catch the culprit using the Loquiz app—turning the city into your personal crime scene.
The case opens outside MARCO, the contemporary art museum, and moves from there into the Casco Vello of Vigo. The trail passes the Praza da Constitución, the Concatedral de Santa María and the stalls of the Mercado da Pedra on the way down towards the water. It is a detective game on foot, not a tour of the city.
Vigo drops steeply towards its harbour and the old town is a set of stepped lanes, so expect some up and down between the Praza Porta do Sol and the market. Families with children, groups of friends, couples and colleagues all play the same way: teams of up to four with one phone, extra tickets for larger groups, and a score per team. Solo is possible too, without a guide and without a start time to keep.
How to play
Four steps, and the trail in Vigo is open.
- Book the City Game
- Check the instructions email
- Download the Loquiz app
- Start playing whenever you like
The case is the murder of Balthasar. Codes, photo tasks and the statements of digital characters carry the story forward, and some of what you are told is wrong. Near the Monumento a Jules Verne and the Garcia Barbon Theatre the contradictions become clear enough to act on.
Two teams or more and the points decide it, which makes the game a reasonable teambuilding choice as well as a day out. Stop for a while, come back to it, and finish the case in Vigo at your own hour.
