About this activity

Catch the Taj Mahal at sunrise from Delhi with this 12-hour guided day trip, departing pre-dawn to reach Agra in time for the monument's most magical light. Beyond the iconic mausoleum, explore Agra Fort and the intricately detailed Itmad-ud-Daula (Baby Taj), plus local artisan bazaars showcasing centuries of Mughal craftsmanship.

Get an early start from
Delhi to arrive in Agra in time for the sunrise at the Taj Mahal. Marvel at the
spectacular beauty of this monument to love. Our driver will pick you up within
Delhi at around 3am to begin this full-day Agra trip. You’ll arrive at
approximately 6am, just in time for a great view of the sunrise.
Visit the
Taj Mahal, a UNESCO World Heritage site at sunrise. This white-marble world
wonder was built by a great emperor in memory of his beloved Wife. After you
can have your Breakfast in Nice Restaurant, then you'll visit the imposing Agra
Fort (another UNESCO World Heritage site), built by Emperor Akbar in 1565 CE.
This huge fort is made of red sandstone and features elegant buildings. Later
visit the Itmad-ud-Daula(Baby Taj) Which
is a Mughal mausoleum in Agra. Often
described as a jewel box or "Baby
Taj" the tomb of I'timad-ud-Daulah is often regarded as a draft of the Taj
Mahal.Later Enjoy the Agra Bazaar tour which is known for its fabulous
handicrafts, made of marble and soft-stone inlay work. The Mughals were great
patrons of arts and crafts. Empress Nur Jahan took personal interest and was an
accomplished artist herself in zari embroidery work. Agra's major handicraft products
besides inlay work are leather-ware, brass-ware, carpets, jewelry and
embroidery work. Late Afternoon Drive back to Delhi. Tour Ends

Insider tips

  • Arrive at Taj Mahal gates 30–45 minutes before official sunrise for best light and fewer crowds during the golden hour.
  • Bring a light shawl or jacket for the pre-dawn cold in Delhi (especially Nov–Feb); Agra is warmer once the sun rises.
  • Haggle respectfully at the bazaar—artisans expect it, and it's part of the cultural exchange; focus on marble inlay pieces for quality and authenticity.
  • Use the bazaar visit to buy small, authentic souvenirs (zari embroidery, stone coasters) rather than mass-produced tourist items sold near monuments.
