Adventure activities release endorphins, creating lasting positive memories.
Praça Dom Pedro IV is where your team picks up the first task, down in the lower town of Lisbon. The route from there passes the Igreja de São Domingos, opens onto Praça dos Restauradores and turns back towards the Elevador de Santa Justa. It is a city escape game played outdoors, with every puzzle tied to a real corner of the streets around you.
Lisbon does not stay flat for long, and parts of this route climb, so the walking is more demanding here than in a level city; families, friends and colleagues all manage it, but at an unhurried pace. A team is two to five people sharing one phone, each with a character and a role the others depend on. Groups larger than five take a second ticket. No guide leads the way and no start time is imposed on you.
The first clue in Lisbon is four steps away.
Magnus and the stolen formulas are the reason you are out here, and the trail winds up through Largo Trindade Coelho towards the Convento do Carmo on the hill above. Codes get cracked, riddles argued over and photo tasks staged, with the characters splitting the work between them as the mission narrows.
Two teams on the same route turns the game into a competition, and the scores make it easy to declare a winner, which is why it works as a team building outing. The game waits while you stop, so a long lunch is not a problem. Lisbon carries the rest of it.
