Walking tours cover on average 3-5 km and are the best way to discover hidden gems.
George Square is the meeting point, with the Glasgow City Chambers on one side and the first task ready on your phone. From there the route works south to the Gallery of Modern Art and down towards the river. This is an outdoor escape game: the clues sit in the streets, not in a locked room.
The grid of central Glasgow makes it simple to read, and the ground is level enough that families with children, couples and groups of colleagues can all keep going without much effort. One ticket is a team of two to five people on a single phone, and each player is given a character with a role the mission depends on. Bigger groups take extra tickets and compete. No guide walks with the team and no start time is set.
Four steps and Glasgow starts handing out clues.
Magnus has the stolen formulas, and what he left behind leads down through the streets towards St Andrew's Cathedral by the Clyde. Your team decodes messages, argues over riddles and stages photo tasks, splitting the roles between the characters as each one is needed.
Two or more teams turn the same route into a competition, and comparing results at the end is half the point on a team building day. Nothing is timed, so a break is just a break. Glasgow is the board the game is played on.
