1 / 6Self-Guided The Frankfurt Syndicate City Escape Game
About this activity
A self-guided, story-driven escape game that transforms Frankfurt into your playground. Hunt for a fugitive named Magnus and recover stolen formulas by solving puzzles, riddles, and photo challenges at your own pace using just your smartphone.
The trail starts on Paulsplatz in the middle of Frankfurt, where the old town gives way to the banking quarter. From there the route works its way past the Liebfrauenkirche and down to the Main, where the Eiserner Steg crosses to the far bank. This is an outdoor escape game played on foot, so the squares, lanes and river crossings of Frankfurt are the board you play on.
It suits families with older children, groups of friends, couples and colleagues who would rather walk than sit still. A team is two to five people working from a single phone, and every member takes on a character with their own part in the mission, so the group has to pool what it knows. The centre is flat but busy, and the puzzles ask more of you than a gentle stroll would. Larger groups split into several teams. No guide walks ahead of you and there is no departure to be on time for.
Everything runs through your own phone, so there is nothing to collect in Frankfurt before you begin.
How to play
- Book the City Game
- Check the instructions email
- Download the Loquiz app
- Start playing whenever you like
The formulas your syndicate was built on have been stolen, and Magnus is the one carrying them. Closing the gap means cracking codes, working through riddles and staging photo tasks, with each player using what their own character knows. The chase pulls you through the lanes around the Katharinenkirche and out towards Goetheplatz.
Send out more than one team at the same time and it turns into a race, which is why this works as a team building escape game. Nothing runs against the clock: stop for a drink, pick the chase up later, and finish wherever the last clue leaves you in Frankfurt.
