1 / 3Rome by Night Walking tour
About this activity
Explore Rome's most iconic monuments illuminated after dark on this 2-hour guided walking tour, starting at the Spanish Steps and finishing in the atmospheric Piazza Navona. Navigate the city's architectural masterpieces—from the Spanish Steps to Trevi Fountain to the Pantheon—with expert commentary on their history, symbolism, and cultural significance.
The tour starts in the Piazza di Spagna, at the base of the Spanish Steps, the 135 steps that are related to the historic Bourbon Spanish Embassy. At the top of the stairs you will admire the church of Trinità dei Monti, and then proceed to the Rococo splendor of the Trevi Fountain. Your guide will explain the tradition of throwing a coin over your shoulder into the fountain so that you can eventually return to Rome.
After that, walk to the Pantheon, the largest brick dome in the history of architecture, considered a forerunner of all modern places of worship. The Pantheon is dedicated to the gods of Olympus and is one of the best preserved monuments of ancient Rome. The tour will end at Piazza Navona which is built on the ruins of Domitian Circus, adorned by Bernini’s Fountain of the 4 rivers.
