Insider tips

  • Yangshuo town itself is compact and walkable; West Street gets crowded mid-afternoon, so explore early if you prefer fewer crowds.
  • The Li River is most photogenic in early morning mist or late afternoon golden light—request timing flexibility when booking.
  • Local restaurants near West Street serve excellent bamboo shoots, river fish, and rice wine; eating where tour groups don't go offers better value and authenticity.
  • Bring a light rain jacket; morning mist on karst mountains is common, especially in spring and autumn.

Good to know

  • 15-hour itinerary includes 5+ hours of transport; stamina for walking and climbing Moon Hill required (moderately steep, ~30 minutes ascent).
  • Hotel pickup typically 7am sharp from centrally located Guangzhou hotels; confirm exact meeting point and time day before.
  • Lunch at local restaurant included; dietary restrictions should be notified in advance.
  • Bullet train stations require early arrival (recommend 30 mins); bring passport and have e-ticket ready.
  • Mobile payment (Alipay/WeChat Pay) useful on West Street; not all vendors accept foreign cards.
