Highlights

  • Terracotta Warriors Museum – thousands of life-sized clay soldiers from China's 3rd century BCE
  • Xi'an City Wall – walk or cycle the best-preserved ancient rampart in China
  • Big Wild Goose Pagoda – Tang Dynasty landmark with city views
  • Muslim Quarter food tour – taste authentic local street snacks and regional cuisine
  • Luxury 5-star hotel in Xi'an city centre
  • 6-hour bullet train both ways – modern rail travel between Beijing and Xi'an

Insider tips

  • Arrive early at the Terracotta Warriors site (included Day 1) to beat crowds; the museum is vast and poorly signposted without a guide.
  • The Muslim Quarter gets packed after 5pm – join the afternoon session to explore stalls and eat while it's more manageable.
  • Rent a bicycle on the City Wall (Day 2) rather than walking; the 13.7km circuit is easier and gives better photo angles.
  • Book the Shaanxi Provincial Museum entry in advance if you want to visit on Day 2 afternoon – it closes Mondays and is free but capacity-limited.

Good to know

  • Early 6am Beijing hotel pickup required; confirm location and signage system with operator the day before.
  • Comfortable walking shoes essential; plan 4–5 hours of walking on Days 1–2.
  • Bullet train journey ~6 hours each way; seats are assigned, legroom adequate for most travellers.
  • Breakfast included Day 2 only; dinner on Day 1 is your own expense.
  • Ramada Xi'an or equivalent is centrally located; check proximity to your preferred attractions when confirming.
