Private Korčula Old Town and Inland Wine Tasting - from Korčula
Discover Korčula and small village Lumbarda!
1 / 2Explore Korčula's meticulously planned medieval Old Town on a guided 2-hour private walking tour led by a local expert. Discover Renaissance architecture, masterworks by Renaissance masters housed in the Bishop's Palace, and the legendary birthplace of explorer Marco Polo.
The walking tour of this magnificent town starts from the hotel. The Old Town of Korčula is a masterwork of architecture and urban planning where everything is built according to a plan. Our walk will include visits to the Cathedral of St. Mark which is probably the best proof of the artistry of the famous stone masons of Korčula and the excellent stone of the island which has been used in buildings all over the world. A visit to the Bishop's Palace reveals the hidden treasures of the town (sketches and drawings by Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raphael, Tiepolo and many others). The town of Korčula is also known as the birthplace of Marco Polo whose alleged birth house can be seen from the outside.
Early morning (8–10 a.m.) avoids summer cruise-ship crowds and provides soft light for photography. Visit May–June or September–October for comfortable walking temperatures.
