1 / 10Private Glass Bottom Kayak and Snorkel at two Bays
About this activity
Explore two of Cabo San Lucas's premier marine sanctuaries in a single outing: paddle a glass-bottom kayak through calm, shallow waters while spotting rays, eels, and starfish, then snorkel among vibrant reef fish at Santa María Bay, where marine life approaches fearlessly in gin-clear water.
Santa María and Chileno Bays are the best spots in Cabo for swimming and snorkelling.
Santa María is surrounded by cliffs that make an ideal setting for our first snorkel site. Colourful fish swim right around your legs! They aren’t afraid of humans at all. They come close to greet you!
A short kayak ride to the east takes you to some beautiful tidal pools to explore. The finger reef provides calm and shallow waters, great for snorkelling. Here not only fish but eels, starfish, urchins, and even turtles can be your swimming companions.
Highlights
- ✓Glass-bottom kayak with live views of seabed life without getting wet

Insider tips
- ★Arrive early to secure calmer waters and better light for glass-bottom viewing before mid-morning boat traffic builds
- ★Wear reef-safe sunscreen; traditional lotions damage the delicate ecosystems you'll be exploring
- ★Bring an underwater camera or GoPro—the fish are so unafraid they'll swim directly toward you, offering rare photo opportunities
Good to know
- •Duration is 2.5 hours total; plan 30–45 minutes travel time from central Cabo resorts
- •Life jackets and snorkel equipment included; wetsuit recommended for those sensitive to cooler deeper water
- •Suitable for non-swimmers if you opt out of snorkelling and stay in the kayak with the glass bottom
- •Trips run in small groups to protect the marine environment; minimum 2 people typically required
Who it's for
Best time to visit
Visit November through April for warmest water (still 70–75°F), clearest visibility, and calmest seas. Early morning departures (6:30–7:30 AM) offer the best light for both kayak viewing and snorkelling before afternoon waves pick up.
