Embark on a challenging and culturally rich trek across Poike, the island’s oldest volcano, located on the eastern edge of Easter Island. This remote area is only accessible on foot and demands both physical endurance and curiosity, rewarding hikers with a mix of sacred sites, breathtaking views, and archaeological marvels.

Your journey begins at Vai to Heva, a monumental carved head believed to be used in ritual rainwater ceremonies. As you continue, you’ll encounter a white-stone moai fragment from the Maunga Tea Tea quarry, and visit the legendary Ana o Keke cave—known as "The Cave of the Virgins," with its ceremonial significance and haunting petroglyphs tied to ancient rites of passage.

Continue across Kava Kava Kio’e, an eroded desert-like area of red earth once used by the islanders for celestial observation. Here, as part of our sustainable tourism effort, we will plant a native aito tree—symbol of resilience and the warrior spirit—to aid in reforestation and ecological healing.

The hike concludes at the Motu Maratiri viewpoint, where the vast Pacific, Poike cliffs, and Ahu Tongariki form an unforgettable backdrop.
