About this activity

Drive your own snowmobile from Prevala base up to Perelik, Bulgaria's highest Rhodope peak (2,191m), on a thrilling 1-hour mountain adventure. You're in full control of an off-road machine while experienced guides lead you through Alpine scenery and summit panoramas.

You take on the wheel of the snowmobile, you drive it following the rules!

Mountain tour with snowmobile from place Prevala to the highest peak of the Rhodopes - Perelik!

Panoramic tour of the summit and the neighboring ridges. Transition to the very top, a short break for photos at the gorgeous view from 2200 meters!

The program includes free transportation to and from the place of departure. We have 26 Snowmobile in different classes from 370 to 800 cc, depending on customer preferences, and well-trained drivers with more than 15 years of experience.

Highlights

  • Self-guided snowmobile operation — you control the throttle, not a passive passenger experience
  • Reach 2,200m summit with 360° views of neighbouring ridges and the Rhodope range
  • Choice of 26 snowmobiles in 370–800cc classes tailored to your comfort level
  • Guided by instructors with 15+ years Alpine experience
  • Free hotel/accommodation pickup and drop-off included

Insider tips

  • Book the larger 800cc machines if you're confident — they handle the steep sections to Perelik far more smoothly than smaller models
  • Start early morning (before 10am) to avoid afternoon wind gusts on the exposed ridge; visibility is also clearest at sunrise
  • Wear thermal base layers under your provided suit; windchill at 2,200m can drop perceived temperature 15–20°C below air temperature

Good to know

  • Helmet, gloves, and insulated suit provided; bring your own thermal underwear, sturdy boots, and sunscreen
  • No prior snowmobile experience required, but riders must be comfortable with basic throttle/brake controls and 45° slope angles
  • Tours run December–March (weather dependent); Pamporovo occasionally closes 1–2 days per season due to avalanche risk or white-out conditions
  • Maximum 8–10 riders per guide to ensure safety and personalized instruction on technical sections

Who it's for

Adventure thrill-seekers comfortable with solo vehicle control in mountain environmentsSkiers/snowboarders wanting off-piste variety without lift-dependencySmall groups (couples, friends) seeking an active, immersive winter sport outside traditional resort runsIntermediate-to-advanced outdoor enthusiasts aged 16+ with good fitness

Best time to visit

January–February offer the deepest snow base and most reliable conditions on high alpine terrain, though December and early March are viable if you prefer smaller crowds. Avoid late-afternoon departures when wind picks up and shadows shorten photo opportunities at the summit.
