Nairobi-Half-Day Tour to David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage
Take a day out of Nairobi's hustle and bustle and head to the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust....
1 / 10Escape Nairobi for a half-day immersion at Kiambethu Tea Farm in the misty highlands of Limuru, where you'll learn traditional tea cultivation from the farm owners, walk through lush forest, and enjoy a farm-to-table vegetarian lunch in their home. A rare chance to experience Kenyan highland agriculture and hospitality in one authentic experience.
Experience a wonderful day out in the tea farms of Kiambethu. Excellent vegetarian lunch and delicious homemade eggless icecream. The walk in the forest is lovely. This is a perfect getaway outside of Nairobi. About 45-60 minutes from the Westlands area it is situated in the highlands where tea farming is common. It's a tea farm too. The proprietor invites you into their home, shares about the tea farming process, sends you on a farm tour and then welcomes you back with a fresh lunch made from ingredients locally farmed.
Visit during the dry seasons (January–February or June–October) for easier farm walks and clearer views across the tea estates. Early morning starts (8–9 am) offer the most pleasant temperatures and avoid afternoon rain.
