About this activity

A 11-hour guided day trip from Thessaloniki combining scenic train travel through the Greek countryside with a curated minibus tour of Meteora's six monasteries. This UNESCO World Heritage site features monasteries perched dramatically atop towering rock pillars, blending spiritual significance with stunning natural landscapes.

Meteora is an extraordinary place and one of the most visited locations of Greece. The majestic monasteries built on top of Meteora’s rocks offer a unique, breathtaking experience. Besides the religiousness of the landscape, you will have the opportunity to enjoy an area of unique natural beauty.

After the scenic train ride through the beautiful Greek countryside, at 11:30 you will arrive at Kalampaka’s railway station, where our tour guide will be waiting for you holding a signboard with your name. You will board in a comfortable Limo VIP minibus in order to begin an unforgettable tour in Meteora.

This tour will give you the opportunity to see all six monasteries (enter one or two of them) and learn all about the history and myths of Meteora directly from a local. At 15:45 the minibus will transfer you back to Kalampaka’s train station in order for you to travel back to your base.

The train’s departure is at 17:15, so you will have about an hour of free time to explore the center of Kalampaka on foot, visit one of the many cafes or restaurants and relax by observing and taking photos of Meteora.
