1 / 6Kuta Self-Guided Detective Murder Mystery Game
About this activity
Become a detective in Kuta with this self-guided Sherlock Holmes mystery game—solve puzzles and uncover clues at your own pace while exploring the city. It's an interactive way to experience Kuta's streets while enjoying a story-driven escape game adventure without needing a physical location or guide.
The trail through Kuta starts at the Bali Bombing Memorial on the main road and heads inland from there, with Masceti Temple further along the route. Between the two it keeps to the lanes and side streets of the town. This is a self-guided murder mystery game, played on foot and at whatever speed suits you.
Kuta is flat, close to the beach and usually warm, so shade and water matter more here than stamina. Families with children, groups of friends, couples and colleagues all manage it, and one person can play alone. A team is up to four people sharing one phone, and larger groups divide into several teams. No guide walks with you and no start is fixed, which makes an early morning or a late afternoon equally possible.
How to play
A few minutes on your phone is all that stands between booking and playing.
- Book the City Game
- Check the instructions email
- Download the Loquiz app
- Start playing whenever you like
The case is the murder of Balthasar. Coded messages, photo tasks and the statements of digital characters come in as you walk, and they do not all agree. In the streets around Masceti Temple the picture takes shape, and every puzzle you solve removes a suspect from consideration.
Several teams playing at once turns the route into a competition, which is what makes it a workable teambuilding activity as well as a way to fill an afternoon. Stop for a drink, pick it up again afterwards, and close the case back in Kuta.
