See you onboard!Commence a scenic island drive through olive groves, vineyards, and thick cypress glades. Passing through Mount Aenos we will arrive in the area of Omala Valley and we will find the largest religious monument in Kefalonia having been established in 1560 by St. Gerasimos, the patron saint of the island. The Omala Valley is the island’s primary wine region, and most vineyards and wineries are clustered around St. Gerasimos Monastery. You cannot pass from Kefalonia without tasting a glass of the famous local wine at the Robola Winery, located in this area. The Robola, produced exclusively in Kefalonia, is a white wine with special lemon color, acidity in the flavor and aroma of citrus fruits, usually is consumed two years after its production. Continuing we will visit two of the most idyllic places, the subterranean lake of Melissani, where small boats carrying visitors to admire the spectacular sight of the stalactites and the changing kaleidoscopic colors of the water and Drogarati Cave, discovered 300 years ago when an earthquake exposed the entrance, this spectacular two million-year-old cavern features stunning rock formations (enhanced by hidden lighting) and a magnificent hall called "Sala of Apotheosis". Leaving the caves we will meet another beautiful location surrounded by sea and fir tree cloaked mountains, Agia Efimia - a very pretty fishing village with a number of traditional Greek waterside cafes, tavernas, and a good selection of shops.
