About this activity

Explore a cascading system of turquoise pools and waterfalls hidden in the Peloponnese gorge, linked by hiking trails with wooden bridges and safety railings. This 4-hour adventure combines moderate trekking, swimming in pristine freshwater lakes, and optional archery, making it an accessible yet immersive nature experience.

The gorge of Polylimnio waterfalls is a paradise on earth and one of the hidden gems of the Peloponnese. Polylimnio means many lakes and this is exactly what you discover. There are numerous fresh water lakes in many levels with aqua blue waters created by spectacular waterfalls. Water flows from one lake to another and the hiker can cross the gorge through a clear path, small bridges, as well as metal aiding handles.

We meet at the village of Haravgi where our hike starts towards the gorge. We walk into a magical but real natural paradise passing along lakes and spectacular waterfalls. Our hike will take up to two hours and it is suitable for kids as there is no significant altitude difference. Swimming into the lakes would be an option. A swim into the lake and under the waterfall will be extremely refreshing and the perfect reward. At the end of the hike we can enjoy a healthy picnic with traditional local delicacies and relax by the lake. Here your guide and archery instructor will assemble your bow and will set up the place for shooting. Your guide will advise you step by step on how to use your bow and arrows with precision and safety. At the end, we will celebrate your scores.

Insider tips

  • Bring water shoes or sturdy sandals—wet rocks can be slippery and sharp; most hikers change into them at the start
  • Pack a quick-dry towel and change of clothes; you'll want to swim, and drying time matters if you're driving after
  • Go early morning to avoid crowds and enjoy calmer water for photography
  • The picnic spot by the lake is ideal for a 30-minute rest; use it to cool down before the walk back

Good to know

  • Moderate fitness level required; no significant elevation gain, but ~2 hours of continuous walking on uneven terrain
  • Swimwear recommended; changing facilities not mentioned—plan accordingly
  • Metal handholds and bridges aid navigation but are not essential; paths are generally clear
  • Suitable for children and families; guide confirms no steep altitude changes
  • Meeting point: village of Charavgi; arrive 10–15 minutes early for briefing
